EdTech Speed Dating with Games Workshop: Hands-On, Minds-On, and Play> ON!

Ready to explore the future of learning through games and how they can educate, inspire, and connect people in meaningful ways? At the fourth Luxembourg Media and Digital Design Centre workshop, you will dive into our self-developed prototypes, featuring diverse devices, game types, and educational approaches. But that's not all - special guests from the field will showcase their solutions, giving you even more to explore!

Are you an educator, a policy maker or simply a believer in the power of play and want to explore how games are shaping the future of learning? Then join us for a lively debate on the pros and cons of game-based learning with our team members. You will get hands-on with educational game prototypes designed to challenge problem-solving, foster collaboration, and spark creativity. Some will test your quick thinking and strategic skills, others will require teamwork and communication, or pull you into immersive storytelling experiences. You will also meet our special guests from Luxembourg’s EdTech scene, including Lycée des Arts et Métiers, Virtual Rangers, Edugamitec, and LIST, and experience their take on game-based learning firsthand. Finally, stick around for networking, refreshments, and more time to play and connect with like-minded professionals!

🔹 17:00 – Registration & Hands-On Exploration

The moment you arrive, you become part of the experience. After a brief welcome, you’ll dive straight into exploring and interacting with the games, discussing their educational potential with fellow participants and developers. Here's a sneak peek at what we have prepared:

Shigeru: Compete in a fast-paced onboarding challenge that makes learning fun from the start!

Alan: A strategic knowledge race where quick thinking moves you forward.

Carmack: Interactive storytelling adventure to leave explore your creativity.

Rapunzel: Help her escape the tower with VR-based problem-solving.

Pakal: A collaborative Mayan adventure where teamwork unlocks the next level.

🔹 18:00 – Presentations

Thibaud Latour introduces LMDDC and its role in advancing educational game development. Then, Gira Szakmár takes the stage with an interactive presentation about how games bring people closer, open minds, and transform learning.

🔹 19:00 – Networking & Further Game Interaction

The final part of the evening is all about connection. Keep playing, explore our info boards showcasing different approaches to educational gaming, and engage in discussions with fellow open-minded participants and guests.When you leave, you’ll take more than just new ideas—your discoveries stay with you on your phone beyond the event.
